November does and doesn't seem to have flown by, anniversary of the death of my four legged boy Casey, still miss him.
We had a lovely all day crop and made fabulous flowers out of acetate using candles, we were shown how to do this by the lovely Emma Trout at the Scrapstars retreat I went to, very clever and we managed not to burn down the community centre.... always a bonus.
I got talked into doing a school photo shoot and a pre-school photo shoot at that!!! Am I mad I hear you ask, well yes most of the time.... The kids were very good, one of the siblings did throw up but I managed to handle this and I was very pleased with the outcome and apparently so were the parents if the orders were anything to go by.
I have been trying to go back to my original hair colour for some time and have been doing this in stages and not actually getting anywhere, but this time the fabulous Kellie decided we were going for it, so when I looked into the mirror afterwards I am now a brunette, it took a while to get used too but I love it and have been told by two separate people that it makes me look younger, so a good thing then lol
Kai has now been given his hospital date which is in February, he has to have four teeth taken out under General anaesthetic, which is worrying for us, he was a bit scared after the consult as the Doctor did lay things on the line for him, one of the teeth is growing horizontally through the gum and may take some getting out, she did tell him that he may not be able to walk properly for a bit after the general, which surprised me as both myself and Tye have had approx 25 operations between us and had no experience of this slightly groggy and tired for a few days but no not being able to move, other than when they severed my nerves but that was totally different. We had a few funny days with him but we are back to normal now, we shall see what happens nearer the time.
Remembrance Day this year was lovely we had Tye's father and Girlfriend down for the day to watch him in the parade and the parade had moved this year to a wider part of the town which was nicer, you could actually see more, I think they may need to sort out the tannoy system but for a first try it was very good. Off to the Royal British Legion for a quick drink and show of support and then back to my home cooked Sunday Lunch, after which we all rolled into the living room for a while.
Kai has had his hair streaked as his winter roots are coming through and he prefers his hair in the summer, so he is now blond again.
They were showing Ghostbusters at our local cinema this month and I had to take Kai as it is a classic, Tye decided not to come, but we enjoyed it although sometimes watching films now that you have watched in your childhood spoils them slightly as they are so dated, still a good film though.
I made a promise to Kai that he would be able to do a back somersault by New Year and it would of been easy if the Gym he was going to hadn't moved premises!!! We have now found another one but of course it is miles away, but we are back on track for the somersault, and of course signed up for free running whilst we were there, him not me of course lol
We have seen a few other films this month;
In Time: In a future where people stop ageing at 25, but are engineered to live only one more year, having the means to buy your way out of the situation is a shot at immortal youth. (This one was very good and I would recommend it, I thought it might be a take off of the film 'Logan's Run' it was similar but very good, would of liked a better ending but quite an easy film to watch)
Tower Heist; when a group of hard working guys find out they've fallen victim to a wealthy business man's Ponzi scheme, they conspire to rob his high-rise residence. (This one disappointed me I like Eddie Murphy and Ben Stiller and whilst the film had moment that were funny it lacked something, but was still watchable, didn't feel as if I had lost part of my life for no reason at the end of it)
Breaking Dawn, OMG loved it and of course we had to go to the midnight showing, it was quite funny as the film did not play to begin with and we thought the crowd might turn ugly, but luckily they fixed it. I had to go again, so have now seen it twice and would see it again, really enjoyed it, thought it stuck to the book very well, things missed out but of course you expect that but very well done. Especially loved the way they portrayed Bella during the Pregnancy, and the wolf scenes whilst not in the book worked very well.
Am still TEAM JACOB, even after the 'bed' scene........
I did another family shoot this month with a lovely family I have been photographing them since both the children were bumps and really have great fun with them.
No scrap booking for a while, have finished off one of Nikki's classes will post another time.
I have made some cards my favourite digi stamps at the moment are Kenny K and Saturated Canary, have just found the Saturated Canary ones and love them.
This is a Kenny K Download Madison Attitude, coloured with pro markers, the lamp post is a new Marianne Design, the flowers are EK success retro flower, and the paper is called new leaf.
The sparkle bit in the flower are another Marianne design but a bit fiddly so I bought a Kars sparkle punch, much easier.
This one is another Kenny K called Strong Island and is a Birthday card for a special friend who is one of the strongest women I know.
The Queen of hearts is a Tim Holtz embossing folder, as is the rosette (a very useful die cut) the white is of course a doily and the green is yet another Tim Holtz die cut doily edge.
This is a Saturated Canary stamp one of a range of Alice in Wonderland ones called of course Queen of Hearts. The lamp post is again Marianne Design and the flowers EK retro, and the sparkles my new punch. This is for the Saturated Canary #5 challenge
and now it is ready to be sent as a birthday card lol
